You probably felt but never knew concretely
Yoga works for the spinal system, mental conditions, the endocrine system, the digestive system, and women’s issues; it reduces propensity to metabolic syndrome, eases knee pain and prevents injury.
Spine
Use yoga to relieve or prevent the following conditions:
- Lower back pain
- Disc prolapse
- Sciatica
Yoga also helps maintain proper curvature of the spine and preserves spine strength and flexibility.
Mind
Yoga is a good cure for many mental conditions.
- Relieves mental stress and strain
- Prevents an overly emotional state
- Induces relaxation and calm
Endocrine
Yoga helps to activate, balance, and align the endocrine system, including:
- Thyroid
- Parathyroid
- Adrenal glands
- Pancreas
Digestion
Digestive issues seems to be increasingly common across a wide range of people, but yoga can help.
- Improve digestion after a large meal
- Ease upset stomach
- Prevent or relieve constipation
Women
Yoga benefits both men and women, but specific postures can address unique gender issues. For example, in women:
- Prevent uterus prolapse
- Regulate the menstrual cycle
Metabolic Syndrome
That nasty group of problems suffered in the overabundance of the ‘rich’ world, yoga helps to prevent:
- Over accumulation of fat on the body
- Obesity
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Heart attack
- Other heart and cardiac problems
Joint Pain
As with all of the above, yoga is better prevention than cure but there are many postures to relieve knee pain or prevent further injury.
Personally, I’m a huge fan (and advocate) of yoga, but that, you probably already guessed. I use it for flexibility, balance, strength, peace of mind, relaxation, and exercise.
