Winner2Concluding with a big showing for Belight Tea this past Saturday, the 2014 World Tea Expo was definitely a success!

Winner – Buyer’s Choice

Having been awarded 3rd Place in the North American Tea Championships single-serve blended Pu-erh category, Belight Tea was showcased in the Blended/Flavored Winner’s Circle, on Saturday, May 31.

In a head-to-head competition against approximately 12-15 other flavored/blended teas, Belight Tea was chosen “Buyer’s Choice”! This is a big win and a huge success for a Belight, a wellness tea which was foremost crafted for its functional benefits to energy, weight management, and digestion.

Wellness Teas Presentation

WTE1My presentation on Wellness Teas Saturday at 11 am went smoothly–yay for technology working properly!–and I received some positive feedback from various attendees who found value and discovered useful resources.

Eventually, there should be a way to purchase the video of the whole presentation. (Insert gratitude note for having been in Toastmasters for 1.5 years.)

As with any conference there was some excellent networking–meeting tea people from all over the world, reconnecting with people from last year’s New Business Boot Camp (both instructors and attendees), and connecting in-person with people that I’d only ever ‘met’ online.

There was a sizable contingent from Latin American, thanks to El Club de Te, as well as numerous buyers from Canada.

I want to give a quick shout out to a few friends, new and reunited, F&S Ceylon Teas, Bill Waddington of Tea Source, Peter Martino of Capital Teas, Bonnie of Thirsty for Tea, Lisa Kunizaki, and Joseph & co of Rising Sun Coconut Water.

The blogger panel was also a cool way to connect, learn what matters, and pitfalls to be wary of when blogging about tea, or contacting people to blog about your tea.

Amazing Teas

Just as you’d expect at the World Tea Expo, there were some AMAZING teas! While it’s hard to list all the wonderful ones here, I do want to give a special mention to Green Clouds and Mist from Silk Road Teas, and the Crushed Amber Oolong from Immaculate Leaf.

Check out the exhibitor list to discover more teas you might want to explore.
